Madrasah donations appeal to purchase building.

Funding required to purchase building for permanant home for madrasah (loans and sadaqah needed)
The madrasah has been registered as a non profit making organisation and is registered as a charity - Charity number 1144730 under the name Handsworth Education and Training Centre Limited.
The madrasah has looked for many years for suitable buildings in Handsworth and they have been rare and very expensive.
We are striving for our younger generation, who are growing up in this environment, to begin to understand and appreciate the deep message of the Qur’an. This will allow their Imaan to grow, develop, flourish and generate within them the awareness of their Deen, the Shar’iah and its guidance and be able to understand the reason for its implementation throughout their lives thus engendering in them a strong desire to do good deeds for the Hereafter.
We need to raise £250,000.
Instability of the madrasah and the need for a permanant building
The madrasah began in a corner house which it rented. Over time, the madrasah was forced to move on to other rented locations unsettling students and staff. There was always the real risk that if a place could'nt be found the madrasah could have closed down. Fortunately most student's continued to attend but a few had to give up their studies because the new locations were too far for them.
Today the madrasah has about 120 students and 7 teachers. The students ages are between 5-16 with girls up to the age of 12. Although the vast majority of students are from Handsworth, we have been attracting students from a 5 mile radius.
The madrasah is held in a multi function hall which it rents, fitting all 120 students. Its noisy during class because all 120 students are being taught in the one hall. The rent is also quite expensive.
Madrasah History
The madrasah has been running since July 2004. It started with about 45 students and 2 teachers.
The origins of the madrasah came about when it had long been noticed that there was no action taken from concerns about the lack of organised and effective Islamic education available in the Handsworth area. This lead to a generation who were unable to read the Quran properly, unable to perform salaat, wudu correctly because they do not know many other fundamentals of islam such as beliefs and self- purity and unconfident about their islamic identity because they were not being bought up in a islamic envoronment and were not properly taught about morals, manners, Rasulullah SAW, the sahabah and pious predesessors who should be role models.
There was a pressing need for children to be to taught by teachers who could communicate with the children effectively. This means being taught by teachers who are qualified in a recognised islamic institute, who are following the sunnah, able to communicate in English and to understand the environment that the children are growing up in.
